Is the phone charging correctly or it is faulty?

Just bought a Note 5 & started to charge the phone. There's no charging indication. Only feel the phone is slowly heating up. Is the phone charging correctly or it is faulty?

Slight warmth with charging a device is normal, but in my experience, and to the extent that I've ever checked such things, it is slight.
