Is the S3 still an "upgrade" for me?

So, I've had a 2010, Droid X. It's dated. I only got a droid X because my Galaxy Nexus died, and the DX is getting worse and worse, I tried to buff it up with Cyanogen so I have 4.4.4, but it's life is nearing an end, I get my upgrade in January for Verizon. I wanted to get an S3 for 3 months with it only being 100 dollars. Would it be worth it? I personally think it is.

For a little over $100 you could get a brand new Moto G (no LTE support), or the previous generation Moto G (with LTE) or previous generation Moto X, all off contract. You might decide come January that you don't need to lock yourself into a new contract...

O would say no there are better phones on contract for around the same price
