Is the spontaneous glass breakage still a thing?

I'm about to purchase the 6P, but one thing that's making me reconsider is the problems with the glass covering the camera on the back of the phone spontaneously breaking, seemingly from cold air to warm air in a short period of time. I'm concerned about this because here in Minnesota, it's currently -16 degrees F with a wind chill of -34 degrees F. I don't want this thing breaking on me the first day I get it.

It NEVER was a thing in my opinion. Someone or maybe a few people posted it online and the forums, etc went wild with it. It may have happened to a few people out of all the thousands and thousands who have this device.

True. I read that too. I just don't want to spend $549 for something that'll break right away. I did see that YouTube video of the guy warming his Nexus 6P up to 200 degrees and cooling it down right away with an ice cube and he didn't encounter any problems.

was never an issue, just some knucklehead that cracked the visor and concocted some BS story since he didn't buy Nexus Protect. Then a couple other idiots piggybacked his idea cause they were equally as careless. The phone is as premium a device you'll find at the moment. It is slippery though, so you'll want a case or skin to help out with the grip.

I'm going to buy this case: http://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Holst...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU4953663 and use a tempered glass screen protector with it.

awesome, I'm excited for you ... I usually care less what phone people use, but the 6p is honestly such a great device that I look forward to sharing the experience with other people.

Is it your first Nexus? I'm not one of those people that think every phone should be stock, and I actually like the diversity. I'm desperately in need for a second phone for work, but I own a seasonal business so I still have a couple months. Hoping the S7 or M10 fits the bill, but Samsung better come correct with RAM management for me to consider the S7. Being a work phone I always have multiple apps running and I can't have them constantly crashing on me.

No. This won't be my first Nexus device. I had the Nexus 6 for a few months last year until I got the S6 active. I actually liked the Nexus 6.
