I bought the Optimus S off Ebay. The text looks rough to me, especially smaller fonts like in the settings menus and in Gmail. Please see the pics. I actually took it to the Sprint store, but they don't have a live demo of it and the lady said it looked "normal." The CNET review goes as far as saying "the text is sharp." Hence, Is the text messed up or normal?

I used to have a Touch Pro 2, but I got sick of the size and weight of it, plus android is still iffy on it.

if you can read it, its fine. just as with any screen resolution, some things will be sharper than others....the contrast difference with smaller fonts on same screen with larger is more obvious because you can see them "side by side"........its like comparing hd tv's.....unless you can see the exact same program with exactly the same settings side by side, it really boils down to what looks better to you......along with screen size and resolution......a 50 inch sreen is not the same as 5 inch screen.......overall the idea with the screen is, if you can see it clear enough to read it, good enough....want it clearer than the screen is showing, get a bigger display or change the resolution

I switched from the Touch Pro 2 also. The Optimus S is a great mid-range android phone, but it does have a lower screen resolution so the graphics won't be as sharp.

Touch Pro 2: 480 x 800
Optimus S: 320 x 480

You have a big drop in the number of pixels in the LCD, other than that I think the Optimus is a much better phone.

I compared my phone screen to you phone and it looks the same. You have no issue. As others said its the drop in resolution you are seeing.

OK Thanks everyone! I'll get use to it, and then be amazed eventually when I get a high resolution phone.

I think the Optimus is designed to show you how much you want a real android, and how much you’re willing to pay for it.
