Well tested the Verizon s10 with an att sim and its locked even though on Verizon's website it clearly states they don't lock post paid 4g phones.Good question, Verizon agreed to sell unlocked phones when it won an FCC auction of the C Block of 700MHZ spectrum in 2008. But I read that Verizon was now ignoring this agreement and will be locking phones again. Haven't kept up on this, but I'm sure others here have.

Verizon activation locks phones now for 60 days. Meaning, you are good to change carriers after 60 days, but it is locked until then. They aren't unlocked like the used to be initially. They get around the FCC agreement by claiming fraud prevention.
This is not even mentioned on their website. Strange.Verizon activation locks phones now for 60 days. Meaning, you are good to change carriers after 60 days, but it is locked until then. I dont think they have approval for that yet. Pixel 3 owners threw a FIT and they backed off. I'm surprised they are still doing this. I believe this was part of their deal when they bought out alltel.
What happens after 60 days? Do they automatically unlock it or will you have to call in to get an unlock code? They announced a change to 60 days but I don't know when it kicks in

They need to post this on their website. As of now they say they don't lock their devices. They stay locked for 60 days then auto unlock

Thanks for all the input. My Verizon s10 is now unlocked 24 hours after activation. I will pay it off before the end of the month and move to sprint's free one year plan.
They didn't ask for approval, they just did it lol. They were testing with the Pixel 3. The FCC is gonna let them do whatever they want because of who's in charge of it.I dont think they have approval for that yet. Pixel 3 owners threw a FIT and they backed off. I'm surprised they are still doing this. I believe this was part of their deal when they bought out alltel.

They would have to white list it. I know the iPhone x Verizon did. Hopefully they white list the s10 soon. Are you sure the S10 will work on Sprint? I know their iPhones (once unlocked) will work. But when I tried a Galaxy S9, I was told it wasn't compatible when i tried to activate it on there.
