Is the Zenfone 2 a good phone to buy now to try out Android?

I kinda need a new phone soon and have only used windows phones before but need apps. I can get the 2GB version of the ASUS Zenfone 2 for $180. I don't do much more than some web browsing and messaging so no need for higher specs I assume. Is now a good time to buy?

Welcome to Android Central! I have the top-of-the-line 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage version, and it's quite good (and only costs $299 unlocked). For basic use, the 2 GB RAM version should be just fine. Good camera, too. $180 sounds like a really good price.
