Is there a Google Docs app for Android Go devices?

I'm considering purchasing an entry-level Android phone for a friend who wants to make use of the Google Docs and Drive apps. Specifically I've been looking at the Alcatel 1, which runs Android Go. Will he be able to install the Docs and Drive apps on this device?

Welcome to Android Central! Google Drive should be preinstalled as a core app: https://9to5google.com/2019/10/07/default-apps-android-10-android-go/. I can't find any information about Google Docs, but I would guess it can also be installed alongside Google Drive. Otherwise, it could always be accessed via the browser.
