Is there a maximum number of notifications that can stack?

I have a Galaxy S8. I was wondering if there is a max number of notifications that can stack for one app in the notification panel. Tumblr will stop recording and displaying notifications after it hits 49. Is this normal?

It's entirely up to the app developer. Is 49 normal for Tumblr? You'd have to ask them.
