Is there a name for the surface of the phone?

I like how the surface of the phone is. Smooth, hard glass.

Is there a name for this?

Maybe I'm perceiving a difference where one is not there, but in contrast, the Xperia 5 IV doesn't feel the same. The screen feels a little softer.

It might have to do with the oleophobic coating. Most if not all phones come with an oleophobic coating on the screen, but this can wear off over time (especially if the glass is cleaned with alcohol), so that might be why your Note 4 feels smoother and more "glasslike".

I wasn't complaining, btw. I liked it. Or maybe it's been that way for so long, that I was used to it and liked it.
