Is there a removable battery?

One of the big hurdles I have with an iPhone is that there's no removable battery. For my Thunderbolt I keep a battery in my pocket for emergencies. I don't want to become an iPhone "wall socket junkie" where I plug in my phone every time I see a wall socket.

I know that the Galaxy Nexus is thin, very thin. But I'm concerned that they do that by not allowing the battery to be removed.

Any hints on whether the battery is removable? No removable battery is a show stopper for me.

Unfortunately the Razr doesn't have a removable battery, so we'll just have to wait and see. Nobody knows for sure yet. There have been rumors that removable batteries and storage are going out with newer phones.

I honestly wouldn't mind if it didn't have one, its not a big deal I never have to remove my battery on my Nexus S!!!

I believe it will be removable. If it isnt, I'll be pissed for the simple fact that Motorola made the new RAZR 7.1mm thin because of the intergrated battery and the Galaxy Nexus is 8.8mm (11.4mm at its thickest point).

Aside from Samsung tablets have they ever made a device with a non removable battery? I hope this isn't the case I know people that stick with android phones just for removable batteries. I'd hate to see that turn into a trend.

That would also make me second guess getting the razr. I wonder what the wait time will be before other manufactures are given the ability to use ICS. I know it was a very long time with Honeycomb. Some no name tablets are still running gingerbread....

I'm almost certain that it will not have an SD card, and I'm confident that it does have a removable battery. If not, it better have at least 2200 mAh. I wish more Rezound info was circulating.

According to this picture, it is removable.

There is a video on Engadget when the guy is playing with it, and the back cover is off slightly so he popped it back on.

So it definitely looks removable!

And there is no sim card slot on the outside either, so this looks like removable battery!

I'm hoping an extended battery isn't needed.
Based on the images posted, a removable battery would come in handy for those times when one would be away from a charger for extended periods of time. Perhaps a spare battery, or extended battery of some sort.
