Re: trying to insert micro sd card

Welcome to Android Central! When you insert the microSD card, you should push it all the way in until you feel it click into place, since it's a spring-loaded lock. If it's mounting then unmounting, its unlikely to be due to the card not being all the way in. Chances are that the card itself may have become corrupt. When you removed it from your old tablet, did you Unmount first (in Settings>Storage)? Removing a card without Unmounting (while the device is on) can potentially cause some file corruption.

Try inserting the card into your computer, or another device. Is it recognized there?

Re: trying to insert micro sd card

no it does not click in, I push it all the in, it just pops back out. maybe the sd card is damaged, the card is like three years old.

Re: trying to insert micro sd card

A damaged microSD card wouldn't cause it to pop out--it would be more of a problem with the SD slot of the tablet. Unless the card has a piece missing from the outer casing. Compare it with another microSD card to see if they're the same shape and size.

So let's be clear--you're saying that when you insert the microSD and push it all the way in with your fingernail, you don't hear a click as the card gets seated? After the click, it usually will come back out just a bit, but still remain flush with the slot. If it doesn't click into place, and just pops out again, then you need to get the microSD slot fixed.
