Is there a trick to transfer files via BT to a PC?

I've had no luck this morning trying to transfer a file from my phone to my PC. I never had issues the last time I tried, but now that I think about it, I have never bothered with an Android-powered phone. I have all options enabled, including PIM on the PC end. I have both BT settings for the phone and PC to where they can see each other, and they pair just fine. PC recognizes the phone model, and doesn't give any errors upon connection, but it just WON'T send a file to the PC. Every attempt fails during initialization. Anyone a BT guru 'round here?

Don't know about BT, but it does data cable transfer and you always have Kies air. I always use the cable. It is the fastest, right?

Probably so. Still, I'd like to find out how to do it via BT, if nothing else, just so that I know HOW.

right click the bluetooth symbol in the system tray and choose "receive file" then try again from the phone

That's my problem, it doesn't even show up to receive. It won't initialize the connection. :(

Did you pair up your phone with your pc? Whenever I want to send a file to my pc from my phone, I just press share/bluetooth then select my pc from the list. As long as it's paired up, it should send.

For my money FTP much faster if your not plugging it in

This only works if I can get on the same network as my PC, correct? I.E. my phone is on wifi. When at work, I can't use wifi, so I need a wired connection (which I can do, but again would like the OP addressed) or BT for my purposes at work.

I do use SwiFTP at home, love it.

I did. I even tried having both devices "forget" or "remove" the other, and re-paired them. I also went as far as removing the BT drivers on my notebook here at work, downloading fresh ones from Lenovo, and still no go.

I'm facing the same problem... not able to send files from my android phone to PC. The other way (PC to android) works...
Anyone has any clue...

Yes there is a trick: you should run fsquirt.

Type Windows + R keys (or "Run" in Start menu).
Type "fsquirt" in the pop-up window and Enter.

It should open a Bluetooth transfer window with 2 buttons: Send and Receive.
Select "Receive", then send your files from your device, this should open a pop-up "Save as" on your PC.

This is the answer. Don't know how anybody is supposed to know that, no message or nothing, so not intuitive. Anyway, thank you much!!
