Is there a way to back up the note similar to an iPhone?

I exchanged my note 3 which was defective today and it took hours to get it back to the way it was. Is there any way to back it up where if I ever need to warranty it out I can easily restore it to the way it looks and is setup with every app intact where I put them the way the iPhone does it.

Well let me see when you did a restore to factory settings, it gave you an option to backup data and if you have that checked, all you have to do is login to your google account, and even the wallpaper transfers, I am not sure if you get the sms, but you get your contacts and settings.

I did this on Friday. Everything does transfer except SMS and MMS.

Is actually not manually, just make sure the checkbox has a checkmark on it and you will be alright

What you're gonna have to do for SMS is backup to your Samsung account as well.

So. If I would've hit restore when I turned my replacement phone on it would've done it perfectly? Even the folders I created and the place I put them in?

I'll be honest. I don't know how accurate this is because the apps I reinstalled. For example games have no data from yesterday so how do I back those up. If not manually?
Matter of fact nothing transferred from my HTC one either. Only Google based apps remain backed up. But when it comes to other apps I see no back up. To them at all.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this is the reason for back up apps right? Simply because there is no other way to back up games and other apps that are not Google.

If you use backup pro... you will have all of your apps, app data, sms,mms and wallpapers and folders all saved.

Well yeah that is the way to go, definitely because the normal backup only will reinstall apps and no data from them. With the backup pro you will recover your data at least good luck.

I don't even understand how the normal back up. Reinstalls apps. How is this done because I have yet to see it happen.

Another option that may be more complete is Helium Backup. I suspect it is more complete for what you are thinking. It digs into the system a bit more as well to retrieve app data.

It isn't just a load it and be done though. There is a PC client that has to be used to enable Helium to have access to system data. Basically you load Helium on the Phone. Download the PC App and then fallow the directions to enable connectivity. Once the PC app connects and runs the proper android commands Helium can backup everything to whatever storage you want. I would always suggest reinstalling the apps from the playstore though and just use Helium to restore the app data.

Unfortunately there isn't a perfect backup solution that will just move everything over. Part of that is becuase of needing root access for certain things.

I am also not sure of how good it is with the NOTE 3 but Samsung Keis might work as well. It is Samsung's app for integration with their phones, and it has a backup function built into it. I have always found it hit or miss though with reliability. I used it a few times with my OG Note and found Helium better for most stuff.
