Is there a way to change to default voice capture settings?

So, I've been using Vlingo and its voice recognition is better than the other programs out there.

Is there a way to change the voice recognition so when I hit the mic button, it will default to VLingo?

I am using handcent for reading messages and the SlideIT Keyboard.
