I'm thinking of getting the htc m8 (i know late in the day) butive been reading some bad reviews on the lollipop update such as battery problems. Just wondered are you forced to download this update? Is there a way to ignore the prompt as ideally I dont want this until im guessing an update has been applied?

I've been on the update and I get a day with plenty to spare moderate user I too charge at night

Don't be afraid of the update. Get the M8 and do a full factory reset right out of the box, if it's used, and if new it should be good. Install the update. Set it up your way with your apps, which most have been updated to run Lollipop already. Give the battery a week of use before it settles down. I'm on Sprint and I love the update and have no issues with great battery life. Remember for every issue post you read, there are hundreds of happy users out there...
