Is there a way to modify the auto-correct?

I'm still looking for a way to modify the auto-correct like we could on BB. I want it to automatically change "shell" to "she'll" for example. Anyone? Thanks!

Just like blackberry type "Shel" and it will auto correct to "She'll". Most double "ll" words will work like that i.e. hel-he'll, wel-we'll etc. To add words simply type in the word and then when you see it in the auto correct scroll list, long press and it will add it. So if you're familiar with the auto-correct short cuts for Blackberry, they will also work with the Droid.

Good call on the long press to add. I didn't know about that. I'll have to do that for "Haha" since mine autocorrects to "sharouh"

yeah I have a problem with that one too. Does anyone know about change the language on the keyboard from english to spanish?

You may have to search the android store for that Ericatomars06. Also, within the settings under language and keyboard settings there is "user dictionary" where you can input all the words you'd like in one shot. +1 to the long press for adding from within a text field.

Type in Spanish with Spanish Auto-Correct

yeah I have a problem with that one too. Does anyone know about change the language on the keyboard from english to spanish?

I know this is late, but I found this about a month ago, and searched the forums for this feature. I thought it was a pretty amazing feature that comes stock on the Moto Droid1 and is probably lost on most users.

Go to Settings --> Language & keyboard --> Android keyboard (onscreen keyboard settings) --> Input Languages --> check English and Spanish.

Now go to type with your on-screen keyboard and you'll notice on the spacebar a greyed out "< English >" slide your finger across the spacebar, and you'll start to see the option to stop at English or Espanol.

Hope this helps, thank you Motorola for including this awesome feature, great for typing in Spanish with the accents and auto correct that just cannot be done with only an English keyboard with auto-correct.
