Is there a way to project one app's data usage as if it were being used by another app?

AC Question

My service provider gives me unlimited data usage on select apps like whatsap, facebook and twitter, but I want to use more data intensive apps like internet radio or you tube and have their data usage show up as though being consumed by whatsapp and facebook on my mobile operator's monitoring end so I don't hit my data cap. Is this possible with android OS? I am using an unrooted Nexus 5 running Lollipop.

If you can have the whatsap server send you internet radio, yes. It's not what's consuming the data - your provider doesn't look at that - it's where the data is coming from. Connect to whatsap - regardless of what app you're using to do it - and they don't charge you. Connect to an internet radio server and they do.

It's not possible with any OS. It may be possible by breaking into the whatsap server and hacking their code to send you data it gets from other servers. It's definitely possible by magic. But in reality it's not possible.
