Is there a way to restore "No subject" messages from a blocked number?

I blocked a number recently on my Galaxy S9 but want to retrieve the blocked messages. I have several, and most of them say "no subject - message size: 1KB" Expires (the same time they were posted)."

I have no idea what this means. There is at least 1 message that shows as a normal text, but the rest are all "no subject."

I have unblocked the number but they continue to show up this way in Messenger with the only option being to "delete all" which I do no want to do.

Thank you.

Welcome to Android Central! An expired message often means it was an MMS message (which could be a picture text or group text). You have a certain amount of time to download those message (which is done automatically if your mobile data is on), but if the messages aren't downloaded within that time period, I don't think you can access them. (It's possible that blocking the number prevents those MMS messages from being downloaded.)
