Is there a way to run apps in a "compatibility mode"?

Much like how Windows has a compatibility mode where a user may set a program to run as through it is operating under an older version of Windows, is there something similar for Android?

I ask because I am running Android 6.0.1, Bliss ROM 6.0, on my rooted LG G3. Prior to this I was using a couple different ROMs, but both were Android 5.1.1. When I moved from 5.1.1 to 6.0.1, I noticed a few apps would FC quite unexpectedly. Upgrading and downgrading the apps didn't help. I've determined it's a combination of a custom ROM and Android 6+.

So I'm hoping there is a way to run certain apps as though my version of Android is 5.1.1.

Unfortunately not on a native level. Does the apps work if you go back to a 5.1.1 rom?

Have you tried wiping app cache via app manager?

I'd contact the app devs via Play Store asking for support / when you should expect an update to fix 6.0+ bugs.

I haven't gone back to 5.1.1 since moving to 6.0.1. Long story short, I was on 5.1.1, app in question worked. Moved to 6, app stopped working. Moved to 6.0.1, app still didn't work. Moved to another 6.0.1 ROM, still no dice. Sometime after this, the app was updated by the devs. I updated but still no luck. My gf is running 5.1.1, so I will try the app on her phone and report back.

Just so everyone knows, the app is Boost Juice. They're an Aussie smoothie / juicing co. and their app was awesome because I could buy my juice before entering the shopping centre, and by the time I go to their shop, my juice was just made and ready for me.

Yup, tried clearing the data and cache, tried uninstalling and reinstalling, all to no avail. I've emailed the devs, and they have replied. However I am not holding my breath as I am pretty sure rooted users are more often than not shrugged off as being the most "buggy" device users.

I had the same issue with the Netflix app. But because Netflix is much more globally popular than Boost juice, a fix was created by someone on the XDA forums, which I was able to flash in TWRP. The fix was specific to Netflix, sadly.

Ok, so the Boost juice app works perfectly on my girlfriend's phone. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (non LTE model), rooted, running android 5.1.1. Just as I thought it would.
