Mass SMS Text with Android/TMobile (switching from Balckberry/Boost) Questions, Experts Needed!
Hi, so Id like to switch from my current Blackberry Curve 8530 with Boost Mobile to a Moto G 2nd Gen with Team Mobile, but after reading about some potential Mass SMS limitations Im quite concerned!
I have about 300 contacts in my Blackberry. Now I have a Text List which people subscribe to, this is not spam, these people requested to get on my text list. Its probably half the total contacts, around 150 people who are on my Text List. However, this number could grow over the next few years.
Using the Blackberry, I am able to create a group of any size and send a single 160 character SMS message to the entire group. This is not a "conversation" or "group" where we all reply to each other - when people reply it is to my number only. Yes, sometimes I will get some errors from Boost Mobile like "SMS error" or "Message not delivered" but in general, all 150 people on my text list are able to receive the text.
Now apparently there is a limitation in Android which restricts the phone to sending 30 SMS messages per minute. Im not sure if there are similar limitations with Team Mobil, and Ive registered an account over on their forums just now to ask.
MOST IMPORTANT: Is there any way for me to Mass Text 150 contacts using stock Android which my Moto G shipped with? Is my only solution to root the device or buy a Blackberry Q10?
Any advice on importing my contacts from my BB? Is there any way to transfer the group so I dont have to manually add half my contacts to the Text List Group?
