Is there an app replace HTC streaming media player?

I try a few apps, but whenever I select a music/video, the app does not show up on the option panel on the ones that I download.

Which app is it exactly? Is it called HTC Streaming Media Player, or is it just called Media Player? How are you selecting the music or video to play, and where are you downloading them from?

In general, MX Player is an excellent 3rd party player.
