I just noticed in developer options in running services that app is running all the time but also noticed the app "package disabler pr"o does not work with Android Oreo, is there any other way to disable the T-Mobile app (disable button is also not available in settings)

I'm pretty sure I disabled mine on the TMobile s9. I also make sure auto update is off in my Google play account.
The TMobile app is a scourge and battery hog. So useless.

did you use the an app or just saw the option to disable it on settings?

I try to never open that thing!
When my phone went through the initial setup at the store and all my apps were transferred through Google play store the damned thing updated along with all the other apps before I could toggle the do not auto update.
So... I just uninstalled the update and never opened it.
I looked in my apps on my phone and the option to disable is greyed out... So perhaps I didn't get to disable it after all.
All I know is that I had overheating issues with it on other devices in the past so I try always to never touch it from now on and just make a web shortcut for the website instead.
Good luck! I really wish it was deletable.

I turned off the diagnostics that sends diagnostic stuff to tmobile. That fixed everything.

Package Disabler Pro does work on Oreo, I'm using it on my S9+. You may have to uninstall PDP Engine first, then install the latest version of Package Disabler Pro; if that doesn't work, contact the developer.

I've had it on my Note 8 and currently Pixel 2. No issues with abnormal battery consumption. It's actually quite useful IMO.

I contacted the developer and he ignored my emails, so I downloaded the apk of the latest version and it did work as I do have the license.
