I really want to know if this is possible. If anyone has any answers or comments they are welcome. And if transferring music from Nexus 7 to ipod shuffle is possible, feel free to explain. Thank you! :)

The only way to get music onto the iPod Shuffle is via iTunes. And since iTunes is only available for Windows & Mac PCs, it's impossible to transfer music from the N7.

You can use a program called Transpod on the Mac as a go between. You can move your music to and from the computer and Shuffle without iTunes using this and then move the music to/from the Nexus 7 as you normally do.

There are similar programs for Windows - I think one is called Sharepod.

Or you can install the Google Music Manager and then select the option to sync to your iTunes library. Then you can use iTunes to put the music on your iPod.

Is this different to an old iPod Nano? (2nd Gen, I think).
On my PC I use MediaMonkey to move files to and from my iPod - not syncing as such: just add a folder full of mp3s to the MediaMonkey library then right click > send to iPod. I can delete files from the iPod by opening it as a normal folder via MediaMonkey too.
I've just seen a Beta is available for Android (though I can't vouch that this version will perform that function).

On a negative note though, I have Media Monkey installed on two laptops and a desktop, and oddly, on one of the laptops, it persists in changing my default file associations whenever I launch it.

This is why I never wanted an iPod. I couldn't stand the thought of having to use a proprietary program to manage music on an mp3 player.

That's interesting...I note the description does not mention anything about ipods so I would wager it does not support that now. I wonder if they will try to implement that.

When I posted earlier I forgot about MediaMonkey (mm) which someone mentioned earlier. It works fantastically with an iPod classic so I imagine it would have no trouble with a shuffle. With mm you can update album art (I guess not an issue with the shuffle) sync, add, edit, move, delete, etc. as you want. Great program.

I agree with an earlier post about not wanting to be forced to use proprietary software with an iPod - luckily there are many options out there to use with iPods.

Again, you're assuming a computer is involved and the original query was about a direct to connection to the tablet...
