Is there any work arounds for my in car bluetooth problems, Only works with google play

Picked up my first android product this weekend, the new nexus 7. Untill then Ive purely been a blackberry guy. But decided to sell my playbook and pick up a new nexus 7. I got 80$ for the playbook surprisingly lol, what a dumbass. One thing blackberry is doing really well right now is syncing with cars. Even the playbook syned great with my truck, a 2012 toyota tacoma with the standard stereo, not entune. My Z10 is boss for playing music. Its the little things you notice that make all the difference.

The problem Im having is it will only send music to my truck when the google play music player is open and running a song. So I can have a song playing there plus winamp and youtube going over top of it. But if I pause the google music player everything pauses. Like theres some sort of protocal blocking everything unless that app is running, this goes for ALL audio, keyboard clicks and everything.

This is not a truck issue, my blackberry products all work great. With my tacoma anyways it can do everything. Its up to the individual apps to work properly. It seems its something in android stopping winamp and youtube from working though, since it works when overtop the stock music player.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I want this tablet mounted on my dash with and ODB reader.

I've continued to Dig and apparently this was a problem that came up when jellybean came around. Was supposed to be fixed with 4.2.2 but now on 4. 3 and still no fix.

I tried my Bluetooth headphones and they work perfect. So it's a problem between my truck and the tablet talking the same language. Retarded since everything else I've used on my truck to date has worked flawlessly.

For any future peoples looking for answers I figured it OUT!!!

This is not a jellybean issue or android. Its a google play issue, that music app is garbage and If anybody reads this who knows how to delete it chime in cause it should be tossed. Its messing with the permissions and screws everything.

I downloaded the double twist music player https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...=com.doubleTwist.androidPlayer&token=223uf1cA. It found the playlists I had right away. It plays to my stereo and sends the song title to the display. It continues to play when I minimize the app by jumping up to the top left drop down menu. But as soon as I open youtube or any other app with sound it pauses the music and leaves the channel open for youtube to send bluetooth to the truck. Some coding done properly by this developer with 100,000 downloads that google couldnt do themselves.

This app is great and also has a 5$ add-on for wifi itunes sync so Im goona give that a try. And then probably look around and try a few apps, find one and stick with it. But since winamp cant even work properly Ill probably stick with "double twist"

For a music player, I am a loyal PowerAmp user (not Winamp). You can try it out for free. Though I don't have bluetooth in my car (unless my bluetooth speakerphone counts) I haven't encountered any issues using Poweramp....it even works with my Sony Smartwatch.

I just tried about 8 apps. Power pro was my favorite unfortunately its bluetooth support was crap. Poweramp's album art download wasnt as good as power pro but Its bluetooth support is perfect. I have to make shur the tags dont have any garbage in it for it to work properly. Whatever though, I make one or two small playlists a month.
