I often mirror my screen to Chromecast for apps that don't have a Chromecast option. I do this mostly for video. Well, Chromecast sends the entire screen not just the video portion. That means to fit the entire screen onto the TV (since the TV is 16:9 ratio) it has significant black bars on the top and bottom of the screen. And, on top of that Samsung has already put black bars on the left and right side to play it on the phone's screen. What I end up with is a 70" TV displaying about 40" TV's worth of video.
It's a real crappy experience, I gotta tell you. So, I can't find any way to get the resolution to 1920x1080 or any other way to tell Chromecast to only use a portion of the screen. You'd think in this day and age with high-tech this kind of crap wouldn't continue to plague us.
BTW, this isn't unique to Chromecast. Same thing happens if you attach the Note 10+ to a TV via an HDMI cable.
