Okay, I'm a KISS kinda guy. I like to keep my PC/Laptop/Phone as "clean" as I can with only what I need and not a lot of trash. So, I got the ThunderBolt, my first Android phone, and my first Market experience on release date; March 17, 2011.

Naturally I went straight to the Market. I couldn't believe all the free or negligibly priced apps on the Market. But still, I held onto my willpower :) I suppose I went a month and only downloaded about 5 apps. The ones I needed (i.e. Officesuite stuff, PC Remote stuff, Flash, etc). Well, the next month was a lot harder. Probably downloaded about 10 more! And... now... I don't know what happened to me, but it's been only about 5 months since I got this phione and I have 64 (SIXTY FOUR!) apps! How the heck did that happen to a KISS kinda guy? :D

Anyone else feel his way? I know some of you will think 64 is still amateur territory. :D

I have 46 from Amazon and 66 from the Android Market. If that makes you feel any better. I try not to download stuff I won't use but most are games.

I have 66 from Amazon and 35 from the Android Market...lol! And I'm sure there are millions of people who have a LOT more than me!

Running out of room is the best cure. When your phone drags to a crawl because of all the apps pre loading your memory you'll get rid of stuff.

I can completely relate Frank as I follow the K.I.S.S. principle too. I highly restrict what software is installed on my home computers to reduce their attack surface and minimize patching/administration (they're also locked down as much as possible so software install is restricted unless logging in as administrator). So far I've been able to keep my Thunderbolt (first smartphone too) to very minimum number of apps (only four not counting default ones already on phone such as GMail, Google Maps, Youtube, Adobe Reader/Flash). Whether computer or smartphone, it is tempting as far as software options. But, I try to stay disciplined and always question the pros and cons or if I really need the app/software in relation to what permissions it requires or what risk it may bring. It's always a security versus convenience trade off. I default toward security! :)

Alright, someone's really gotta link me to this girlfriend app...
EDIT: I found the app, but it had a lot of negative reviews. Some of the problems people were having were force closes of your internet access, corruption of your sd card and your mojo, and nagging. Lots of nagging.

You just haven't found the right GF app for you yet. Keep looking, somewhere out there is Ms. perfect app (for you.)

Have you tried one of the GF app finders yet? GFappmatch.com is worth a try. ;)

You guys are slowly heading off course with this make believe GF app... and we all know where that road eventually leads to.. a dead end. ;)

Keep things on topic please.

I think I removed more than 64 yesterday ;) No not really... Any way I do tend to try out a handful of similar apps at a time. Some at the same time. Calculators for an example. Once I have a winner I wipe out the rest. Pick a new function and repeat. Some testing takes weeks. Others like SMS I only load one at a time. Lots of notes either way. Nice to have the add supported apps for testing. Though some I've never installed due to weird permissions. That's one of the few things about BlackBerry I miss is the ability to deny permissions selectively. Android's "take them all or nothing" permissions is a security flaw in my book.

I have a solution Frank.... Remember the scene from the Airplane where everyone gets to slap the woman with the panic attack? :p

Okay, I'm up for it. But, I've gotta warn you. I'm wearing Boxer Shorts and I know how to use them! :)
