I have an iPod and my Android phone that I often hook up in my car. I only have one USB port so I have to continually change back and forth so I unplug and plug in. I often plug the iPod in and then wait for music to play before forgetting the Android USB cable is in and I have to switch them out. Not a really big deal but I remember having this kind of cable before but I don't remember where I got it and I can't seem to get it now anywhere?

Do you know of a cable that I can keep plugged into my USB port that then splits one to ipod connector and one to say micro USB or mini USB?

USB Cable ----- > Apple iPod connection
------> Micro or Mini USB

So this way I just connect it and select the appropriate input on my stereo so when I hit iPod I know it will play the iPod and not my phone.

any help?

sorry if i made it more confusing than it should be

I had a really good idea but never mind i didnt read the whole post... lol get a car charger with micro usb and use the usb slot on your car for your ipod. thats the only way i see it working

I am unsure what kind of USB port you have in your car but you may be able to just add a USB hub. I have a 4 port hub that connects to the USB connector on a power port (used to be called cigarette lighter) adapter in my SUV. Just get a two port one if you want. Then just use whatever cables/devices to USB you want. No need for extra cables.

You are only using it for power so that should work just fine, does for me, I can charge up to 4 things (4 USB ports) but usually only use two as you do. It should handle two devices just fine since USB powered devices don't usually draw more than those adapters can put out.

Just do not overload it with high drain devices and you will be fine.

How is the USB car charger going to allow him to play music through the car stereo? It's a fine solution for charging both...

You can certainly find a cable but you might run into issues if you're expecting to leave both devices connected and then select the device from the head unit.

Get an Evo and or Incredible transfer all your Music over and be done with your Ipod forever...

ok lets try again

i have a regular usb port in my car but i have two devices and no i wont transfer my music to my android because its not polished enough yet

in any case since i only have one port i dont want to keep taking cables out and switching them so is there a SINGLE cable that is a usb cable and then splits one to an ipod connection and one to micro usb for the droid incredible

simple enough?
