Hello all; I am sorta new but have rooted other devices in the past, but this used HTC One is new to me with a very different process.
I have a HTC One M8 unlocked bootloader with S-on with 4.4.2. I tried to flash a custom ROM but during boot i receive a repeated "unfortunatly, HTC BlinkFeed has stopped" and cant see, go,to tap on anything else.

I am able to attach it to my computer and see files in both the device and external SD Card.

I have tried to boot into recovery on the hone and with the Hansoon2000 toolkit but unsuccessful since it states that the device is not found. Any ideas?:-\

You need to figure out which model you have then reflash the specific Twrp recovery for your phone. Boot into fastboot and see which version you have. After running the command to flash twrp, run command, fastboot erase cache, to clear the partition. Ensure that the rom you have on your SD card is for your specific device and flash it in twrp.
1. You always want to make sure your have everything specific to your device.
2. You always want to erase cache to ensure nothing old gets left behind in that partition.
3. Always make sure you have the latest TWRP.

Thanks for the advice...Since i just unlocked bootloader (a week ago), the version in Hansoon2000 is 2.7.0.2 TWRP. As for booting into fastboot, I cant...VOL Down + power does not work...all it does is restart. I have tried re-flashing TWRP and tried to "Boot into Recovery" via the toolkit but it acts like debugging may be turned off but i know it was on prior to the ROM. As for wiping the cache, i did but the version of ROM was most likely the issue. Since i am running 4.4.2 i tried an older ROM so that probably the issue and it was specific to my HTC One M8.
An other advice to go to stock...re-flash recovery...or a backup for that matter?

You should be able to get to the bootloader with VOLDWN+Power... you will need to. Turn phone off, hold VOLDWN down, and then hold power for 5 seconds. Remove from power, but continue to keep VOLDWN pressed until white screen comes up. You want to check your CID and Software level. Barring that, we can take a guess if you provide the carrier you bought it from. ATT with 4.4.2 for example, we can work with.

But you will need to figure out how to boot to the bootloader; there isn't really a way this should not work, so its likely a user issue :)

What ROM did you try to flash? Got a link?

the VOL DON and PWR does not work, all i get is the ATT restart logo, however, my CID is CWS__001 and version is 1.58.502.1. I know this sine i went back to stock to get the OTA to 4.4.4 with no luck...The ROM that tried to flash was ViperOneM8_1.5.0_OTA from their website.

I agree about getting to bootoader, that's why i am here...i am guessing but could the ROM have changed my debugging settings? And erased my recovery?

Have you tried a hard reset while the phone is on? While the phone is on, press and hold all three buttons(power vol+vol-) until the screen goes blank. Then let go of all but the vol-,some phones will just completely shut down, in that case, hold power and vol-. There is no need to release the power button. Just keep holding both buttons down until you see the fastboot screen.

That worked ...kind of. I started with your recommendation, which didn't work but put me into safe mode. I kept trying, and during the power down process i tried the VOL Down and Power.**CHAACHING**I'm in recovery loading my phone now. Thanks!
I guess i am going to un-root my phone and use sunshine for the S-OFF, think it will be worth the money since i have yet to successfully flash a useful ROM after three attempts.

Glad you could get it to work. Side note, ice never learned how to put this phone in safe mode. I've never had it soft bricked though. Interesting!
