Is this battery life on my Pixel 2 normal?

I've been noticing recently that the Pixel Launcher is killing my battery. anybody else notice this?

Pixel Launcher usually uses a bit of battery on my phone, but nothing to the point where I'd say it's draining it abnormally. On my current charge I'm at 40% remaining, 5 hours of screen time - Pixel Launcher is showing at about 6% this cycle.

The 80-40 guideline is fairly standard -- Tesla recommends it for their big lithium battery packs as well. Following that guideline will prolong overall battery life, but from a real world standpoint, it detracts from the routine usage of the phone, since you'd only be able to use it for 40% of a battery charge. I don't have any qualms about charging up to 100%, but try not to let it drop much below 30% on a regular basis.

BatteryUniversity.com (from Cadex) is a good, heavily detailed resource.

I wish I knew someone with a Tesla

So after a couple of weeks with my Pixel 2 one thing I'm noticing is that overnight if I don't charge I lose 8-10% in a 6-7 hour period. Less than 2% an hour I guess so not a huge deal, just kind of surprised it uses that much sitting on my nightstand.

Just reduce your overnight....sleeping is highly overated.

What's the cell signal like where the phone sits? If it's mediocre, you could consider turning on Airplane Mode (and then turning wi-fi back on) before going to sleep.
