The first 2 days my full charge states 10hours of battery usage and I'd say the battery drains pretty quickly, I've followed a lot of tips on how to save battery too. Can't help but feel the battery should be a little better than it is performing at? My mum has the same phone and her full charge says like 19h or something

Welcome to Android Central! Keep in mind that the battery remaining estimate is based on previous usage--so if your recent previous usage has been pretty heavy, then the phone will assume you're going to keep using it like that, and will estimate a relatively short battery life on a full charge. The first 2 days with a phone is usually associated with fairly heavy usage, because you're busy installing a whole lot of apps, testing things out, and generally keeping the screen on. This all uses battery.

For a better idea of what your battery usage is like, show us some stats. Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

You might have to install a 3rd party battery monitor, like GSam Battery Monitor, to get the Cell Signal Strength graph.

Batteries need several days of charging cycles before they behave properly.

Is that still the case? I thought that "conditioning" a battery was either a myth or an outdated concept. I think the first few days of having a new phone are always notable for shorter battery life, because the user is installing lots of apps and trying lots of features, which means increased battery usage.

My battery usage in settings still said 10H this morning, but Gsam tells me completely different, I managed 4h 52m screen on time yesterday, which seems about right really. I think the expectancy and paranoia of having a battery % showing makes you watch it too much and you notice it going down. When in reality the phone lasted me from 7.30am to 10.30pm (put on charge at 15%) with normal/average usage throughout the day.
