Is This Normal?

Hi,

I've just picked up my new Moto maker 2014 Moto X.

I always look over my phone before I switch them on to look for any imperfections.

I have noticed on the back of my phone where the metal frame bulges down there appears to be an indentation of some sort. However on looking on Google images I have seen the same thing on some images yet not there on others.

Could others please comment if they have the same and that it is by design before I make myself look like a fool and request a return with Motorola.

I haven't seen pictures of one without it.
Its shows in the pictures on Motorola's website too, so it appears to be by design.

I've just had a good look at the design thread and they all have it there as well.

Saves me looking a fool to Motorola!

Do you mean the top back of the phone ,between the frame and wood?

If so, that little hole is a mic.

Most cases have this hole punched out too.

(If you're referring to that)

That indentation is for one of the microphones.
