Is this only happening to me?

When I do a nandroid back up or my original os and then put on a 4.1 rom (CM10, Codename Android) , everything goes fine and I can always restore to my original os via CWM..but if i put on a 4.2 rom it erases everything and i have no backups or pictures or anything that was on my phone. For example, i backed up the stock Samsung OS and out on CM10 and then downloaded CM 10.1 from the CM updater in the settings, when i wanted to restore into the stock Samsung OS, there were no files to be found. Am I the only one that this is happening too? Is there any reason for this?

What all are you wiping when you flash?

When you make a backup where are you putting it? CWM gives you a choice of internal or external.

I do the factory wipe, wipe the cache and wipe the dalvik cache. I know I should have backed up to external but should it really be wiping my whole phone? when i flash and 4.1 rom and follow the same things it doesnt wipe everything like a 4.2 rom does

You have to copy your cmw backup from your 'other' SD card to your real SD card

Was a known issue with cmw and the nexus since 4.2

Your stuff is still on your device, just in a separate feature

Its due to the multi user feature crap, which is why this happened to you

One of the many reasons to stay away from 4.2 until 4.2.2 is released

If you have a podcast app, try listening to the most recent droid nation podcast, it explains it more in detail

Hope this helps

Check your/0 folder in recovery I believe, or just use es for explorer to transfer your backup to this 'new' SD card

Once this is done, you should be fine

Sorry for triple post, just wanted to add some screen shots to help

Your stuff is located in your '0' folder and you technically have 2 SD cards, copy the stuff you need, then delete the 0 folder as well as the legacy folder

Your right. I went to the sdcard0 and I saw my backups. Just weird that this would happen

I moved the CWM folder to the internal and it now shows up in ROM manager. Do you know if CM10.1 is stable enough for a daily driver?

Once you have all the stuff you want on your correct sd card, delete the 0 SD card folder

And no, i wouldn't trust 4.2 as a daily driver due to all it's issues
