Is this your last Samsung device for the foreseeable future?

For me it is.
This probably mainly applies to Ultra users as the anti-features Samsung is kicking us in the jellybean-bag with.

The S23U to me is the final refinement from the S20U onward (except the display) with the bonus, to some, of the s-pen. I've hated the curved screen from day 1 because of screen protector compatibility. I also miss MST for when I'm forced to go places like Walmart that don't have tap.

I love that the S24U finally has a flat display, absolutely right decision.
What I didn't like is the drop from 10x telephoto to 5x at a higher MP. You simply cannot achieve the same quality digitally.

Now we are are getting into rumor territory but apparently the S25U is keeping the 5x. What's worse and I really hope this rumor isn't true, the same delusionals that thought a higher MP camera could replace the 10x with the 5x are possibly removing the 3x for the main.
It seems unlikely they would but who knows with all the "Apple-ificaton" Samsung has been doing.
Then there's the AI features that are said to only be free for the next few years. I think they will reverse that decision as Google adds more but that would be the icingless cake for me.

It's such a shame, Samsung felt like great move shifting away from Pixels/Nexus's. Now it seems like they just sit side by side of one another.

Those are my thoughts? Are you clinging to the S23U to the grave? What alternatives are you considering if any when the time comes?

I'll wait and see , if I like anything from the s25 series I'll upgrade if not I'm fine with the s24u and Fold 6 combo.

I'm currently using my pixel 9 pro XL/s24U/Fold 6/iPhone 16 pro max and I'm not committed to any manufacturer so if one isn't cutting I'll go to the other .

I'm actually hoping to go back to Samsung once the new S25U is released. I've had my Pixel Fold for a little more than a year now and had Samsung's Folds the 2 or 3 years prior.

I'm looking forward to having that candy bar style back in my hands. Can't lie

Only 4 phones? I'm thinking that you could use a few more. 😉

I'll probably take my S23U to either its grave or mine

Reasons: Find me another phone that has ALL these features:

Awesome 10x-30x pictures
I can turn off auto lens switching
Expert RAW app
S-pen (marking up everything is so much more precise)
Dex (I actually use it with my Thunderbolt docking station)
Gallery (everything from folders to built-in editing tools.)
Edit quick launch shortcuts with ADB (if you need to.)
Engineering and cellular connection menus (requires some indulgence, but it's POSSIBLE--i would not have access to 5G SA without it.)
Good Lock: I'll try to keep it brief
- Deep icon pack integration (reflects on my Galaxy watch, too!)
- Put different widgets, clock faces, on my lock and home screens
- I have 5 buttons on my navigation bar
- Access all notifications in chronological order with one swipe on the lock screen (including messages before they were deleted by the sender!)
- One Hand Operation+ : I literally use every available shortcut on a daily basis, from widgets, to back gesture, to instant smart select, to the task switcher.
- custom double back tap gesture and double side button press
- Sound assistant: I play my kids bedtime podcast on the Bluetooth speaker in their room and simultaneously watch (and listen) to whatever I want off of my phone's speaker.
- Bluetooth metronome fixed picture and sound sync on my car's sound system.
Edge panels (I use their convenience multiple times a day)
Video wallpapers
Custom call video wallpapers
Custom tones for anything and everything
PIN-ning apps when letting the kids use my phone for one thing.

I could probably (definitely) go on...

I'm helping the economy grow
You can tell with the lame jobs added report that the feds keep " adjusting " what seems to be dooown the next month as if people doesn't notice how bad their lying about the economy??? Yesterday they reported 12k jobs added for the country!!?? Country!! Not a state but the freaking country?!? They'll then adjust it to minus jobs added in October by December!?!?

F***k don't get me started or my BP goes thru the roof. At least come Tuesday there'll be changes or we're f**ked again ???

It is an oft-told tale these days. There isn't any way to get the old magic back because changes are incremental now. Until somebody comes up with something radical, and I'm not sure what that would even be (I guess I could argue that the Fold series managed that, but even that is old news now), changes are incremental and no one is going to get as excited about incremental changes.

23U, 24U whatever, They all do things that would have been amazing 10 years ago, routine now. The difference between them is relatively small in the grand scheme of things.

As I was scrolling I think it's been hammered in what I was going to say but hey, I'll try a different approach. You've got a solidly stacked line-up.

That they are. There doesn't seem to be a clear direction they are going. Curious why you're against OneUI 7 Beta? Granted EVERY Beta I've been part of had the exact same bugs as the previous betas, don't even know how that can happen but it does but Ive been checking members daily for the sign up.

Seems like an odd move to go from the Sam Fold to Google one but everyone has their reasons. I have OCD and the slightest scratch on the inner layer would ruin my day and I'd sell it.

I have a feeling the S25 will be a minor refinement unless the rumors above were true (hope not on both accounts).

I'll probably take my S23U to either its grave or mine

All that right there (condescending) for space
