Issue after issue and haven't even started using fi

So I received my Fi sim card paid off AT&T branded Nexus 6 requested unlock code.. Shortly after that I received code and tried to unlock phone and sim card wasn't recognized . called Fi support they said believe it is a bad sim. So needless to say they are sending me another sim crediting me $20. To my first bill

Question is should I be having this much of a issue in getting started???
