Issue with dialing numbers

I have a few numbers saved in the speed dial. Other numbers I frequently call are listed. I'm dialing a number from the speed dial and it's going out as assisted dialing (001-area code and number). I was just recently in a foreign country, but didn't make any calls. The phone has been off while traveling and was turned on once back in the states.

Now EVERY number I call is going out as 001-area code and number. The only way to make a call is to manually enter the number.

I'm trying to get help from Verizon, but I don't think they've seen the issue before. Can anyone help with this?

I don't have a Turbo, but does this help?: [Q] Changing the default Country code that g… | Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo

Call Settings > Assisted Dialing > Reference Country

1. Press and hold the country you want to set it to
2. You will get an option of "change reference", "View details"
3. Click on "Change Reference"
4. Hit back until you exit.

(I believe he means open the three dot menu in the dialer/phone app when he says "Call Settings".)

Checked those settings and it indicates that the current country is Panama (which is where I was), but I'm back in the U.S. now. Reference country is U.S.

I'm on the road in a moment, so hard to look into this, but maybe there's an issue with the sim? Try going to a Verizon store for a new one, which they will activate to your account, and see if that fixes it.
