Question Issue with lockscreen push notifications with Telegram

This only started happening about a week or so ago, but on the lockscreen I will get notifications from the app as I have it set up to do, but sometimes they will just go away in the midst of me reading it as if I dismissed it, despite not having touched anything. This is annoying because I have to actually unlock the phone then and pull the shade down on the home screen to view the message.

Another issue it has is that it will remove all Telegram chat notifications despite having pressed Mark As Read for just one DM/Group.

I have tried clearing cache, setting the app to Unrestricted, resetting notifications, checked all of my notifications (especially the lockscreen ones), and even tried a fresh re-install - none have solved anything.

Has anyone else dealt with this?

Are you logged in on another device (especially a web browser/aggregator)? Telegram is notoriously bad at handling multiple sessions and, if another active device is logged in, will commonly 'mess up' notifications as they are received in multiple sessions.

I had three other sessions open, being my desktop, phone (from another location), and my laptop I keep at my friends house. I left them all, let's see if it works. Thanks for the suggestion.

Didn't work. Just had it happen where selecting Mark As Read for one notification causes all of the other ones to go away from the lockscreen, then I have to unlock my phone and pull down the shade to view them.

I reinstalled the app a second time now and this time made sure not to touch much of anything.

I thought I had it working again, but it is again back to not displaying notifications on my lockscreen (I thoroughly checked all settings to make sure I had the lockscreen display notificiations).

I can feel the vibration when a new message is sent, but it does not appear on the lockscreen; only if I am on my home screen and pull down the shade. Infuriating.

I would send the bug report to Telegram at this point, as it seems to be in their court (again, they're notably bad with notifications, unfortunately). Also you may want to try either Telegram X or their beta and see if that helps for the time being.

Yeah I did that as well, though they'll probably ignore it or delete it (like they did one time).

Also this only happens with group chats and not with actual DMs from what I've observed.

Also just for the record I do still receive all notifications without issue, it's just only affecting group chats and lockscreen, where sometimes they will go away when multiple messages are incoming or just not appear at all. I do however still receive all the notifications, it is just that the lockscreen is being tempermental with how they are being displayed/lack thereof. So realistically wouldn't this be more of an OS-side issue?

May be. I can't remember where it is (was?) but I could have sworn there was an option to 'limit' how many notifications were shown in the lockscreen; may have seen it in something like GoodLock perhaps. Or if this is just with group chats maybe the notification category needs to be tweaked? I would also suggest you enable notification history and maybe use the GoodLock module 'Nice Catch' to see if anything is automatically dismissing the notification or something.
