Issue with Samsung Galaxy SII Calander

I am having problem with Samsung Galaxy S2 Calander. First of all I am not getting any alerts. Suppose I set a time for 3 pm meet Paul. I just get a notification on the status bar. I have to click that and then it shows me that I have a calendar reminder. I would like to know how it can work like a clock alarm does. I have tried to get it worked by changing notification to alert, I could not make it work according my requirement.

Set an alarm for that notification. U can do that while setting up your notification. Problem solved.
