Issues about APN setting in other country

hi everyone：
i have a sch-i500 phone. and i'm in other country out of usa. my problem is
when i try to change the mcc/mnc number in apn setting, the item disappeared.

is that mean i can not change the mcc/mnc number to match the carrier of my county?

Well the thread you linked to was for a completely different phone from a completely different maker- the Motorola Droid Pro. I don't think you are going to have much luck. The sch-i500 is branded and speced for the US. I thought the international version of the Fascinate was the I9000. Anyone else know anything different?

Try asking over at xda-developers.com. There are more technical members over there that may be able to help you.

Other than that I would flash a custom rom and see if that unlocks it

i flashed the SC2.3-2.8v,but it not work for me.
i asked adrynalyne who published the ROM，he has no idea with the problem too.
can somebody test add a new apn in apn setting,and change the mcc/mnc to
460/03 and tell me the result.

my phone is samsung fascinate i500,which my friend send it to me from usa.
my carrier is a cdma network,just like verizon.

finally i found the problem, verizon lock the mcc/mnc in framework.jar.

modify the file, its worked!
