Issues with Ford Sync & Droid

I'm having an issue I haven't been able to find mentioned in these forums. My Droid pairs with my Ford Sync fine and works perfectly while I'm driving. The issue is when I leave my vehicle and exit the car it's like the phone doesn't release from the sync. If I make or receive a call it connects and the person can hear me but I can't hear anything through the handset. If I put it on speakerphone then I can hear them but if I go back to the handset it's silence. This is with my car off and me far away from the vehicle.

I've also tried disabling bluetooth on my phone after I've exited the vehicle but even that doesn't fix the issue. The only solution I've found is to turn the phone off and then back on again.

Any ideas?

Does the Sync connect to the USB port and the headphone jack at the same time? I have an issue where if I connect my headphone jack to my FM transmitter, then connect my car charger, when I disconnect it all, I can't hear calls through the phone speaker, but the speakerphone works great. A battery pull fixes it, but it's annoying enough that I don't even bother using the car charger anymore.

No, it's only connecting through bluetooth though last time it was also connected via a headphone jack so I can listen to pandora. Maybe that's the issue. I'll try using the bluetooth without the pandora hookup and see if that makes a difference.
