Issues with my Moto 360 2015

I am having many issues with my watch:
Initially I noticed some of my wear apps (VIMOFIT) were not working constantly. Found out there is an issue with some of the sensors using Sensor Box for Wear app. Rebooting the watch usually resolved this issue so I was reboot around twice a day.

Now for the past 1-2 days the watch has been completely unstable. I continue to get errors about google play services "Unfortunately, Google Play Services has stopped." on my watch. I have done MANY factory resets... Uninstalls and reinstalls of the Android Wear app and am unable to resolve this.

Are others experiencing similar issues? I have 2 days to return the watch to BestBuy so need to make a decision quickly...

Thanks!

I've had the watch for weeks now and have never had any errors and if I were you I'd return for sure and pick up a replacement. Better safe then sorry.

Just wondering if you have updated your Android Wear App? I just noticed a lot of issues mentioned in the recent reviews.. For example:

"Update has screwed my Moto 360 My watch doesn't charge well, the app keeps crashing."
"Suddenly getting constant "Google Play Services has stopped" on my Moto 360 2nd Gen..."
"Broke my moto 360 2 I just got my brand new moto 360 2015 and it was working like a dream until this update. Now it is almost entirely useless. Fix this immediately...."

I've had the same thing happen actually. Ever since the latest Android Wear update, I have had nothing but issues, to the point were the watch is unusable. This is really frustrating! I've had the Moto since the day the original came out, and never had issues like this before!

So far, I've done several factory resets, uninstalled AW, and forgot the Moto in Bluetooth settings. When the watch initially starts up, everything is fine, but I get a card that says I don't have all of the Google Play Services installed to run Android Wear. It doesn't tell me what I need, just that I don't have it. I can dismiss the card and all is well... Then after a few seconds I get the Google Services Has Stopped message. I say ok, things run horribly slow for a few minutes and then get the message again.

If anybody has fixed the same problem, please let us know! Thanks!

I have my app's set to auto updated and it looks like it updated yesterday afternoon and haven't noticed any changes. I charged it last night and worked fine just like always and haven't ever seen "Google Play Services stopped". Maybe I'm a lucky one or the updated didn't negatively effect all and just some individuals.

Edit - Just noticed on my watch it say Google Play Service was updated to 8.3.01 last night at 11:35. Maybe if you haven't received that update where the problems at.

What phone are you running with your Moto? Makes me wonder if it is a combination or phone and Play Service version...

I'm running the S6 Edge+

Re: Issues with my Moto 360 2015

Android Wear updated to my phone last night (version 1.4.0.2412408) and now it crashes every 30 seconds with the message "Unfortunatly Google Play services has stopped". Rebooting, factory resets have not solved the problem, mainly because (I'm assuming) Android Wear on the phone updates it right after the factory reset.

The watch says its on Google Play services 8.1.07.

Moto 360 is now completely useless, just like other posters here.

Insane.

Oh, well never mind. Everything between the Edge+ and the Note 5 should be the same...

Re: Issues with my Moto 360 2015

An update; just uninstalled everything and reset the watch. Went to apkmirror.com and downloaded AW 1.3.0.2369832 which was released on Oct. 26th. Definitely before I starting have any issues. And well, here's the sequence:

Re: Issues with my Moto 360 2015

Looks like in the Play Store 100's of people are making the comments in Android Wear App update has ruined their watches so hopefully they're looking for a fix soon.

Here's a fix until Google updates Android Wear and or Play Services.
1. Uninstall Android Wear app from your phone
2. Download Android Wear version 1.4.0.2392391 from here - http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/android-wear/ version 1.3.0.2284253 has been reported to work by lvmymoto
3. In the Play Store go into settings and make sure Auto-updates are turned off.
4. Install the download version on your phone.
5. Factory reset your watch.
6. Sync watch and phone and everything should be back to normal and working.

Since my watch is working I haven't tried this method but it should work.

Re: Issues with my Moto 360 2015

Just started getting the message that I need to get Google Play Services or the watch won't work, even though it's running version 8.1.07.

I believe you need version 8.3.01 to have it work and I have no idea why mine was updated and other weren't. Try the fix I post above and that should work.

Thanks for the info mclarry, however, I had to got back to version 1.3.0.2284253! I tried the exact steps you listed above with version 1.4.0.xxx, didn't work, went to the next down, didn't work. But finally, got everything downloaded and the watch reset with 1.3.0.2284253 and all seems to work so far. I'll keep everyone updated as I use the watch, but for now, it seems good.

Thanks for this info. I will give it a shot. In the meantime, has anyone had the other issue I mentioned with the Sensors? Would anyone be will to install the Sensor Box for Wear app on their watch and test the various sensors for a day or two? If you get a message saying "Waiting for Data...." then you'll have the same issue which I have.

I actually got it to update to 8.3.01 by uninstalling Android Wear, resetting the watch, then reinstalling, but it still has the error "Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped" and reports that I don't have Google Play services installed on my phone. The watch does show 8.3.01 now when I view versions from Setup.

Turning the Moto 360 off for now.

I bought a Moto 360 yesterday and experienced this issue out of the box (connecting to a Note 5). I decided to call Motorola and they directed me to install Google Play Services from 4/21. I did so and so far, the 360 is working.

FYI, here's what I did.

- Removed existing version of Android Play services on phone.
- Google "Android Wear APK"
- Choose the first link titled "APKMirror"
- Scroll down and choose "See more uploads"
- Install the version from 4.21. It's version 1.1.1.1867902
- Reconnect phone to watch

Hope this helps.

Update from my (frustrating) endeavors; I'm right back where I started unfortunately. Thought I had it all fixed, but once I got my first notification, all of the Google Play Services messages started popping up again. Watch is useless right now. Turned mine off as well.

I might give the version from 4/21 a try, later. I've reset the watch 5 times today all with the 5 latest versions of AW, don't know if I have the patience to do it again! Might just be waiting for Google to get this fixed...

Note if everyone has AVG, it did a big update today and when I did a first scan it happened to put up a thing saying 'block x' and one was google play. I picked the default and it killed my watched. Factory reset, uninstalled AVG, reinstalled AVG, this time not choosing to do the defaults and it appears to be working.
