Issues with Note 2 Battery?

HI,

I am facing a weird issue with my Note 2 since I received a minor software update few days back. I observed following things -

-My phone hangs all of sudden and become unresponsive.
-At some time it just loses the mobile network (shows No Service) and then restarts.
-When the phone TRIES to restart, I can see the lights on the soft buttons flickering as if they are not getting enough power.
-Phone fails to restart and hangs. I am not able to restart the phone successfully until i connect the charger.
-Sometimes battery percentage drops directly from 70% to 0%.

I am seeing all these issue only from last few days and all of sudden. Phone was working awesome before that.

Is this could be battery issue. Will replacing battery will resolve the issue?

Welcome to Android Central! It would be odd for an update to trigger a battery issue. Try wiping the cache partition, which can be helpful after system updates: Reset: Samsung Galaxy Note II | T-Mobile Support

May be its not because of update. I have used a different charger (not samsung's) but only couple of times. But is this really a battery issue or it is some other problem?
