Issues with speaker

I recently had to get a replacement Thunderbolt because the sound coming from the speaker during a phone call on the old phone sounded as if there was something inside the speaker itself making some sort of a crackling sound while on a phone call that you could hear anytime someone would speak, including myself, and that is even with the volume below 50%. I know that I work in an environment that has a lot of metal dust particles that can be in the air and I have been placing scotch tape and shipping tape over the speaker so that nothing will get inside but yet it still seems as if something got into my speaker in the other phone to make it sound terrible when on a call. Has anyone else been having issues with this and does anyone know of any cases for the Thunderbolt that can protect the speaker itself.

Yeah, I started a thread about this yesterday. It looks like the EVO 4G has the same problem. I'm gonna try and take mine back.

have you updated your radio to MR2 or MR2.5, or are you still running on the same one that came with the phone?

if this is foreign to you, then forget i asked :)
