Hi Guys,

I am using Weather and clock widget on the home screen of my S7. It was working fine till the Nougat update came. After the Nougat update I wasn't able to update the weather by clicking the refresh button (forgot to take a screenshot, posting a reference photo)-

The same was updating without enabling GPS or any other setting. It works the same way in my SIII. After the update nothing happened when I clicked on the refresh button. I had to click on the weather photo and scroll down the screen to update it. I was tired of the same so I cleared data and cache of weather and weather forecast from the app manager. Now when I am trying to add my city I am getting this network unavailable error even though the phone is connected via wifi-

If I open weather forecast and click on more settings and then select use current location, it turns on gps, I am able to add my city and the weather details are refreshed but only when I click on the weather photo and scroll down the screen to update it.

I don't want to format my phone :( What should I do?

Thanks

Try uninstalling and then re-installing the app and subsequently the widgets? Sometimes after an update that can help.

This is why techie people would make lousy doctors. "Did you try turning the life support off and then on again?"

Thanks for replying. The weather widget is not an app. It is present by default in every Samsung phone. So cannot reinstall the same. Any other help?

While you can't uninstall it, you should be able to disable it in the Applications Manager (may have to filter for All instead of Installed or Downloaded - I forget how it's labeled), which will uninstall all updates, restart your phone, and then go back and enable it, which will re-install the updates, and may make something click between the widget and the OS. The only other option I can think of is try a 3rd party weather widget and see how that works. That's all I got. :/

I have already tried everything that you have mentioned but still I need to do this to make it work, click on more settings and then select use current location, it turns on gps, I am able to add my city and the weather details are refreshed but only when I click on the weather photo and scroll down the screen to update it. IDK why these companies need our location everytime. It was not the case in the earlier models.
