Now the issue is getting used to the phone size, ive been messing with it for about 2.5 hours on and off....and my hands hurt....hurts like when I go bowling, holding those awkward bowling balls....

your bowling will most likely improve.

Now time to test battery life with my usage...LTE is constantly on, I use Facebook and instagram very frequently, and a few emails and texts throughout the day. Dont really talk on the phone much...use my office phone at work...

It will get better after a few charge/discharge cycles. Lithium Ion batteries take a few cycles before they are 100%. You can also get an extended battery. My phone lasts anywhere from 24-Hrs to 4-Days with the extended battery. I have actually used LTE for a full day at work when the internet/network was down and still went home with 50% charge. Enjoy your new Note II!

I forgot to mention that you should do a master reset before you go any further.

A few things to set right of the bat to get the most out of battery life.
1. Either set brightness to auto or set to middle.
2. Gps off unless you are using it. You can still do location based searches with it off so should be good. Gps really only good for maps and driving.
3. Bluetooth doesnt use much power bit you can turn it off unless you need it.
4. Wifi can stay on, in fact I never turn it off. However there is a setting in the advance wifi menu that sets it to turn off when the screen is off. I have this turned on except while plugged in.

There are few apps that are notorious battery hogs and these are stock apps. There are a few apps by google that have some settings that unless turned off which they are turned on by default seem to constantly pole for location. This will drain your battery quick.

A properly setup note 2 with the above settings out of the box should net you atleast 6 hours of screen on time and with quite a bit of power left over. I go to bed at night usually around 50% charge and 4+ hours screen on time for the day. Other than being rooted I do not use any external power savings software and I Despise the power saving mode.

In display settings you can adjust screen mode, I set mine to movie mode which seems to make colors more realistic which also reduces the brightness of some colors as well. It SEEMS to be better battery life but it is a minute difference and better on my eyes, also there is a setting at the very bottom for auto adjust screen tone. Your phone can analize the images on screen and adjust itself. This stays checked for me as well.

Have fun and by all means ask questions thats what we are here for! Your new phone is more advanced than most and there are thousands of youtube videos to help you out. My advice is look at the "dailynote2" videos first by lucidmike, his videos are very enlightening as to what your new phone is capable of.

Deleted...accidental repost of above

The first four I already knew. Unistalled some google and att apps that I didnt need. Etc. I have my brightness already set to 50% and the display is on natural today.

Why do you despise the power saving mode??????????

I know what it does and I already get what I consider great power savings. Regardless of what I do I still charge every day. I have noticed lag its not much but I have noticed it and it just urks me. The only tine I really use is when I get below 20%.

The battery is a monster, Jae! It lasts a looooong time. So this a matched set with your Note 10.1, huh? Mine is Titanium grey so it is a close match with my deep grey 10.1.

Sure is!!!!!!!

So far I've only gotten about 15.5 hours and 4 hours screen time Max..... someone had mentioned that I should be able to get 6 hours of screen time.......
