It starts off with a blank screen asking for password password for what?

My irulu 10.5 comes on but asks for password.Don't know what password they want.The screen is blank except for a clock and a rectangular square with a line in center of screen and a little keypad,if you hit that it turns into abig keyboard,You can type in password but I don't know what password their looking for? For all intents and purposes It is useless,with out that password and there is no way that I know how to retrieve it.

Did you set a screen lock? If so, that password or PIN would be what is required.

1) when did this start happening?
2) where did you buy the device from?
3) Do you have a lockscreen password on your phone?
4) Before it happened was the phone working okay?
5) did you try and root the phone?
