I installed Foxfi which required that I create a lock screen password before it would work. I assumed that I would be able to remove lock screen security during the times when I don't need to create a hotspot. But now it will not let me disable the security. I even uninstalled foxfi and restarted the phone but the option to disable is still greyed out. What do I need to do?

You need to delete all of your security certificates. Settings >security>clear credentials. Next time you use Foxfi, it will reinstall the needed certificate. I delete when I think I won't use Foxfi for a while.

Switch to pattern and purposly enter wrong pattern until forgot pattern shows at bottom. Press and enter gmail info then it will take you to lock screen choices either pick swipe or if its grayed over simply press back and it will default to swipe all while retaining foxfi certificate.

Does it stay on swipe permanently or does it revert to pattern at some point?

I have the same problem but this didn't do a thing for me. Cleared credentials but it still asks for a pattern.

I'm scared of this.... I've seen a message that pops up saying after 10 incorrect attempts the phone will automatically self wipe.... is there a risk in trying to remove the screen lock this way?
