It's been too quiet about the EVO3D

Is it just me, or has news and rumors about the EVO3D been too quiet as compared to the news and rumors of the EVO4G last year. Last year I remember googling EVO4G everyday and often finding an article on someone getting an inside tip as to when the EVO was being released and for how much.

With the EVO3D, its been quiet. Ive been googling it everyday and the only news and rumors have been the Best Buy pre order.

Whats going on? Are websites not pumping their inside sources for information? Is Sprint and HTC being really hush hush about this? Yesterday, I read that there was a HTC/Sprint event that featured the EVO3D and the release of the HTC S3D SDK for EVO3D developement, but no rumor or even discussion about release date. This news wasn't even covered on this website.

Agreed. There must just be one guy in Sprint who knows when it will release and how much it will cost. If more people knew, then I feel like there would be a lot more inside sources talking to websites. Hopefully there is some more info soon. I really thought the Google IO would bring about something!

Who knows, it could just be that other android phones are alongside the Evo 3D, technology wise (except for the 3D obviously). I mean, the Evo 3D is still a heck of a powerhouse, but it wasn't much of a powerhouse compared to the Evo 4G when it was released. Or could've just gone used to all these superphone releases :P

Htc needs to get phone in the hands of the reviewers. We need to
see more of the phone.

It is als odd they moved the EVO 3d to other HTC phones...not the place one would think a flagship phone would go.

Wasn't the release date revealed this time last year on the EVO 4G?

It was announced May 12th at a party Sprint held for some movie release.

I wonder if they are going to go the Nexus S route and announce the EVO3D almost 2 weeks before its release.

Someone already said on Sprintusers that it was going to be on the same date in which the Evo was initially released.

I am surprised we didn't get any more videos out of Google io. There is just the one showing of that 3ds spiderman game, but that's it. I really wished they would announce it already!

May be they didn't want to get drown out with all the news coming out of Google IO, may be we'll hear something next week! ;)

Guys, Im waiting to check out the 3d at the store before purchasing it and I just read today on BGR that when the new iphone releases in september, sprint and tmo will pick them up as well. Does this change anyone's mind about 3d? Right now I am stuck with garbage BB Tour so I don't think I can wait that long so I will have to choose between nexus s and 3d most likely but everything being equal, I'd probably give iphone a first shot.

If the iphone were available to sprint, will the phone still have free gps sprint navigation?

I've never really been interested in iPhones, so this wouldn't change much for me (I just like android/HTC too much and doubt I could switch to a different OS/brand). Add to that having to wait another 3 months, and I'll definitely pass.

Not for me, but for my mom, yes. I would love to give her an iPhone, as she is familiar w/ her iPod touch, and is a total computer illiterate smartphone noob. But I can't run on rumors, and she's been up for a new phone.

I called sprint and they said they weren't taking preorders on it
The guy that did it went to a store. Did you call a store or Sprint direct sales?

Not for me

I've always expected the iPhone to make it to Sprint (nice to see some fresh buzz about it) but never thought twice about it. I think the iPhone is a great phone but I like to tinker too much to ever consider it for myself.

So news has it that the HTC sensation will be coming on T-Mobile on June 8th. What do you think will that do for Sprint and th EVO 3d? Will they try hard to push it out sooner? Will they wait to release it? It definitely has been awfully quiet.

While I'll be hugely disappointed if the Evo 3D isn't the first one out (since it appears to be Sprint's flagship, and was announced first), I don't think it'll do anything to the launch date. While they maybe should, I don't think Sprint cares about the Sensation launching on another carrier with regards to the 3D.
