Jobs: "And now I'd like to introduce the iPhone 4 signal enhancement kit. Once again we've outpaced the competition to market with this as well as demonstrated our innovative prowess." Big applause.

Jobs: "And I bet you're wondering what this kit contains? Well here's a picture."

Audience: "OOOOOOHHHHHH." Long applause.

Jobs: "Here we have the iTape and iScissors that make up the kit. I bet they'll try to copy
us but you know we are the original and best." Long applause.

Jobs: "Be sure to visit your local Apple store asap to grab one up. They're only $50.00."

Consumer Reports wont recommend the iPhone 4...

Consumer Reports won't recommend iPhone 4 - Technology & science - Wireless - msnbc.com

Nice... Consumer reports came out today and said they won't recommend the iPhone 4.

"When your finger or hand touches a spot on the phone's lower left side ?an easy thing, especially for lefties ? the signal can significantly degrade enough to cause you to lose your connection altogether if you're in an area with a weak signal," Consumer Reports said. "Due to this problem, we can't recommend the iPhone 4."

Even funnier (or perhaps sadder), Apple is censoring any mention of this story on their support forums:

From engadget:

Consumer Reports has thrown down the gauntlet, stating that it "can't recommend" the iPhone 4 until the antenna issues are fixed, issues that its labs and ours have verified quite substantially. Apple apparently isn't happy about that, and has taken to deleting threads about the Consumer Reports article from its support forums. Now, Apple deleting threads from its support forums is nothing new; outside of "regular" moderation, the company routinely deletes discussion of hardware flaws that it's not ready to 'fess up to, or just generally negative lines of thought about its products.

Consumer Reports confirms iPhone 4 antenna problems -- and so do we -- Engadget

Apple deleting mentions of Consumer Reports' iPhone 4 piece on forums, can't delete your thoughts -- Engadget

Coming from the company that ran the famous "1984" TV advertisement, this is both ironic and sad.

Got to love it. The best part is all the Apple "Fans" in the comments under the Engadget report bashing Engadget and saying they have no credibility when it's consumer reports saying this.

I had an iPhone for 2 years. I thought it was a pretty good phone... AT&T wasn't the best where I live and had it not been for AT&T and their crappy coverage I might have an iPhone 4 right now.

Instead I ended up with a Nexus One for 3 months and even though T-Mobile was 10 times worse than AT&T, I just flat out loved Android... Ended up switching again to Sprint and I just love my EVO. It's an amazing phone... and at least for me Sprint is easily 10 times better than AT&T and 20 - 30 times better than T-Mobile...

Doesn't stop CNET from putting it at the top of the top 5 smartphones. I stop listening to CNET after their Droid review sounded like an iPhone comparison chart. Everything was Droid does this but iPhone does this.

Everything is compared to the iphone, but seriously, Leo Laporte who I have followed for years said that the IP4 is actually playing catch up and said the Inc, 4g and the X surpass the iphone in setting the standard.

Re: Apple Can Not stand The HEAT

Ok I'll be the first to admit I love Apple products (ipod, laptops) but this is straight shady.

I hope you guys don't mind, but I merged a bunch of these duplicate threads together. Nobody should take it personally.

If you ignore the problem, it'll go away.

OR

If you throw massive amounts of money at the problem, it'll go away.

Those two things have "worked" for our government, I am sure Apple can give it a shot.

How true. The Company "for the rest of us" has become "them". Bill Gates must be getting a chuckle out of this one.

I think bill gates chuckled when Microsoft gave Apple all that money when they hit bankruptcy the first time
