It's the #!$%#$ WiFi that's causing the drain.

I leave WiFi and GPS on all the time. Where I live in NY there are WiFi spots everywhere so when i leave my house or office, this thing hunts all the time until I unchecked that setting in the WiFi settings. My battery lasts between 9.5 - 12 hours on average and that's with a lot of texting, instant messenger (I use Trillian with battery saver on), web browsing, checking two email accounts etc. The GPS only goes on when A. You open your web browser up and that is for a few seconds then turns off and B if you are using Google Nav.

Its all me... I'd rather do it myself then have another app running in the background. Its become a routine for me... my phones in my hand 24/7 as it is.. so toggling a widget on the homescreen is not that big of a deal for me.

Hopefully not really 24/7  What would the Misses say. LOL

I found being connected to wifi all day uses more battery then leaving it on 4G all day.

I also tried one of those wifi apps for a couple days, one day after an hour and 5 mins and one 8 min. phone call my phone used up 15% of its power. Mind you I did nothing but that 1 phone call in that time. Well I uninstalled the app yesterday and today so far I have read a couple emails made one 7 min phone call and sent a couple texts and have only used 2% of my battery........oh and that is in 5 hours and 36 mins

the app was y5 battery saver
