I've got a notification to update my M8 from AT&T just now

I'm wondering if this is Loillipop or something else. I'll probably wait a couple weeks in case there are a bunch of bugs, but haven't seen any posts on the AT&T M8 getting any updates.

If you're on 4.4.2, it's the 4.4.4 update. (That fixes the Heartbleed bug.) There shouldn't be any problems. (My wife's been running it since AT&T released it for the Note 3.)

If you're on 4.4.4, I would root the phone so it won't update. Since HTC doesn't void the warranty for rooting (they're the only manufacturer that doesn't), and rooting won't affect anything but updating (unless you decide to run some apps that need root), there's no reason not to. LolliBug isn't ready for release yet, even though we're on the second bug fix. It'll take a few more updates to get it right enough to be usable.

I too received the message on my htcm8 to update & even tho I told it to remind me later...it updated automatically & along with it was more useless apps...

Thanks Rukbat and loozingsanity. I'll wait a few days anyway just to ensure no battery bugs are in this release. I just hit backspace and the notification went away, so hopefully it doesn't update itself before I give it the go-ahead.

It automatically updated this morning and woke me up in the process with all of AT&T's bells and whistles. Ubber and AT&T Live were the newly added apps and I immediately disabled them. There doesn't seem to be any issues with the update either.
